About Department
Central Gippsland Health Service (CGHS) is the major provider of health and residential aged care services in the Wellington Shire with more than 70 acute beds: 180 high and low care residential aged care beds, as well as 15 independent living units. Acute services are situated at Sale (incorporating an Operating Suite, Emergency Department, Critical Care Unit, Obstetrics, Level 2 Nursery and Paediatric services) with some acute beds located at Maffra and Heyfield.
About the Role
To provide specialist paediatric services for CGHS as an effective team member within the Paediatric Unit consistent with approved scope of practice and CGHS paediatrics capability.
Duties
- Perform at the level of Specialist paediatrician to provide safe, comprehensive paediatric care
- Provide clinical and professional leadership
- Work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team
- Provide consultative and paediatric management support to clinicians in other specialities
- Provide supervision and training to interns, registrars and other junior medical staff.
About You
- Work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team
- Values diversity and models cultural awareness
- A primary medical qualification registrable with the Medical Practitioners Board (AHPRA)
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or other postgraduate clinical training, qualifications and experience in Paediatrics assessed by the College as suitable for this position
